HELPFUL INFORMATION

At Conway Riverworks, we know that riverside and marine projects often come with a lot of questions. From access and permissions through to materials, timing and the best solution for the site, there is rarely a one-size-fits-all answer.

This page covers some of the questions we are asked most often. It is here to give you a clearer idea of how we work, what to expect and how we approach different types of riverworks projects.

If you need advice on something more specific, we are always happy to talk through your requirements and point you in the right direction.

Do you offer standard packages or bespoke solutions?

All of our work is bespoke. No two river frontages, mooring berths or slipways are the same, so we assess each site individually and recommend a solution that suits the specific requirements of the project.

Do you work on both residential and commercial projects?

Yes. We work on both private and commercial projects, applying the same care, attention and engineering understanding whether the job is domestic in scale or part of a larger development.

Can you help with erosion or land loss?

Yes. We provide a range of erosion control and bank stabilisation solutions, from engineered systems such as sheet piling and gabions through to more natural approaches where appropriate.

The right method depends on the site, any specific constraints and the level of erosion involved.

Do you build pontoons, jetties and access structures?

We do. We design and build bespoke pontoons, jetties, landing stages, footbridges and other access structures to improve safe and practical access to the water.

Can you advise on flood defence options?

Yes. We can provide bespoke flood defence solutions designed around the property and the conditions on site, including practical considerations such as drainage, client access and ease of use.

What areas do you cover?

We are based in the Thames Valley and carry out projects across the surrounding areas. If you are unsure whether we cover your location, just get in touch and we will be happy to advise.

WHY CLIENTS ASK US

Clients usually come to us when a project falls outside the ordinary or they have been recommended to do so by a previous customer.

. Working near water often means dealing with changing levels, difficult access, unstable ground or structures that need to perform over the long term in demanding conditions.

That is why we take a practical, considered approach. We look at how the site behaves, how the space needs to function and what materials or methods will deliver the most reliable result.

Our answers are never generic. They are shaped by experience, engineering judgement and a clear understanding of what is realistic, durable and right for the project.

STILL HAVE A QUESTION?

If your question is not covered here, we would be happy to help. We know that every site comes with its own considerations, and sometimes a quick conversation is the best way to get clear, practical advice.

Whether you are planning a new structure, dealing with erosion, improving access or looking for a bespoke riverside solution, we can talk through the options and help you understand the best way forward.

Get in touch with Conway Riverworks and we will be happy to discuss your project in more detail.
